It's not a bird. It's not a plane. It's not a boat. It's a Flyboard!
Ever dreamed of being a Super Hero—flying through the air or speeding underwater? Flyboard can make that dream a reality! Flyboard combines the thrills of jet skiing, snowboarding and acrobatic diving and lets you fly like a bird and swim like a dolphin.
Developed by Zapata Racing in Spring 2011, Flyboard works with a PWC. Once strapped onto the Flyboard , users control movement by tilting their feet. Handheld nozzles help with stabilization, similar to ski poles.
You have to see it to believe it! Click here.
You can also see the Flyboard in action at Try It Cove. Demos will be held daily
OCEAN at the Chicago In-Water Boat Show
The Yacht OCEAN will be featured at the Progressive® Insurance Chicago In-Water Boat Show at 31st Street Harbor on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17, 2013.
A symbol of American freedom, forward thinking and teamwork, the yacht OCEAN is Chicago's flagship. She is among the largest, fastest and most beautiful racing yachts in the world.
Her stunning deep-blue hull measures 86 feet from stem to stern, her mast stands 100 feet tall, and her largest sail measures 5,000 square feet. She is built entirely of high-tech carbon fiber. Multiple computers guide her and manage her complex systems.
The yacht has a pedigree of record-breaking performances and wins at many of the world's most prestigious regattas, including the Newport to Bermuda Race, the Queens Cup and the Chicago to Mackinac Race to name a few. The boat has been clocked at 27 knots -- about four times faster than a conventional sailboat.
OCEAN will be open to tour on Saturday and Sunday only, until 3:00 pm. At 3:00 pm on Saturday, Team OCEAN will arrive to ready the yacht for her 5:00 pm exit from 31st Street Harbor as she heads-out for practice exercises.
